vivo X500 E May Be Just a Rebranded V80
New evidence suggests the vivo X500 E may be a rebranded vivo V80 rather than an upgraded model. Earlier this year, the X300 E was an upgraded version of the V70, with a similar 6.59-inch display, the same 50+50+8MP camera setup and a nearly identical design. Its key differences were a premium chipset and a bigger battery.
The X500 E was expected to follow that pattern. However, a Google Play Console listing reportedly reveals the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, the same chip found in the V80, which undercuts the idea of a premium refresh.
For the industry, this is a useful reminder that model names and spec sheets can tell very different stories. Naming strategy, chip sourcing and mid-cycle rebrands all shape how buyers compare value across a brand's lineup. For anyone tracking phone launches, it is worth looking beyond the model number to the hardware underneath.
