Reddit goes logged-in only, and AI is behind it

Reddit is moving toward a 'logged-in only experience', and the company's plans are still being finalised. The story is tied to AI, which makes it a useful signal for anyone watching how large platforms handle access and data in the AI era. Logged-in requirements can shape user growth, content visibility and how communities form, so product teams, marketers and developers should keep an eye on the details as they emerge. For professionals working on platform strategy or AI features, the key question is what this change means for openness and who gets to see content without signing up. Until the specifics land, the smart move is to watch closely and avoid assumptions.
