Samsung Posts Record Quarter Led by Memory Chips
Samsung Electronics reported another all-time high quarter, with revenue up 14% quarter-on-quarter. According to the company's press release, it recorded KRW 107.4 trillion in operating profit, which it describes as the first time a tech company has exceeded KRW 100 trillion in quarterly operating profit.
The growth is driven largely by Device Solutions, the division that makes memory chips. The unit reported KRW 147.1 trillion in consolidated revenue and KRW 106.5 trillion in operating profit, a record for the division.
Why it matters: memory sits underneath phones, PCs, servers and AI infrastructure, so demand and pricing in this segment ripple across the whole hardware industry. For professionals in product, supply chain and tech strategy, it is a clear signal of where the value in hardware is concentrating.
