Steam achievements get their own sets now
Valve is adding "achievement sets" to Steam, a feature that lets developers organize achievements into distinct groups for a base game and its DLCs.
The mechanics are simple. Players keep unlocking achievements by playing normally. The change happens afterward, when Steam displays what has been unlocked, organized into the sets a developer defined.
Why it matters: as games grow through expansions and add-on content, a single flat achievement list becomes harder to navigate and harder to make sense of. Structured sets give developers a cleaner way to present progress across a game's full library of content, and give players a clearer picture of what they have actually completed.
It is a small interface change on the surface, but it reflects a wider trend in platform design: making large, layered catalogs easier to read.
