ANBERNIC's 3DS lookalike might cost more than expected

ANBERNIC's leaked RG DDS is a reminder that retro design doesn't guarantee a sale. According to a leak reported by Android Authority, the handheld, styled after the Nintendo 3DS, could cost more than expected. That matters because it would enter a niche already shaped by competitors like the AYN Thor, where buyers compare options closely.

For hardware teams, the takeaway is that nostalgia can attract attention, but pricing has to justify the experience. For product marketers and designers, the challenge is communicating value when a familiar look sets expectations for a lower cost.

Pricing remains unconfirmed, so we'll watch for official details. What signals do you look for when a gadget is priced higher than expected?
