Fan rebuilds ASML's employee-only Lego kit in 810 pieces
An unusual story at the intersection of semiconductors and hobby building. ASML, the Dutch company behind extreme ultraviolet lithography machines used in advanced chip manufacturing, produced a Lego kit of its High-NA EUV system for employees. A Lego enthusiast has now recreated that kit, adding their own customizations, and shared the plans for free on Rebrickable. The fan version requires 810 pieces.
Why it matters: it shows how company branding and engineering pride can travel beyond the office, and how open communities turn exclusive materials into shared resources. For anyone in semiconductors, it is also a reminder of how visible High-NA EUV has become outside the industry. For designers and makers, it is a useful example of how open documentation lets others build on original work.
What do you think: should more internal company merchandise be shared openly?
